What can i expect during the first session?

Our first session together will last about 60 minutes. Once you sign up for an appointment, you will receive an email from Healthie, the online platform we will use to communicate and help track your progress. In that email, you will be provided with a link to fill out the necessary online intake forms. Once logged into Healthie, you will see a space for food journaling. Before our appointment, please track 3 days of your food consumption and physical activity, so we can get an idea of your eating patterns. If you are not comfortable using Healthie for tracking, you are welcome to use MyFitnessPal or another app of your choice. During our session, we will get to know each other by discussing your family, medical and diet history, your current eating patterns, your motivations for making a change, and end with a reasonable action plan that includes several reasonable and attainable goals. After our session, if you are interested in follow up sessions, we will continue to communicate through the Healthie app and make any additions or adjustments to your individualized plan.

Do you take health insurance?

Yes! We are currently in network with United Healthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. Some insurance companies have plans that cover a large percentage of nutrition counseling visits. Please give us a call so we can check your benefits! If we are not in-network with your insurance company, we can provide you with a superbill that you can submit for reimbursement on your own.

Do you have an office?

Yes, we have a new office located at 527 Keisler Dr. in Cary, NC. We are now offering both in-person and Telehealth appointments.
